RedDuckPost: Asian Digital Media Company

Negativity runs rampant on social media, and the folks behind Red Duck Post wanted to pierce the pessimism with some positivity. So they set out to develop an affirmative online destination where people could share posts and media related to animals, food and Asian cultural events. Red Duck Post has been around for several years, and it was time for a redesign. Since it’s a digital media company, keeping up with style trends is of the utmost importance.

Making Content Shine

The Red Duck team wanted a minimalist design that let the users’ content shine. Additionally, it needed to ooze positivity and appeal to millennials. We met these goals by choosing a light peachy-gray hue as the palette base and designed a fun header image that incorporated soft reds, soothing blues and a fun pop of gold.

Corporate Sub-Domain

In addition to the social media platform, Red Duck Post also needed a static corporate site. To keep it separate from the social media side, we added a sub-domain as a clear demarcation. For branding purposes, we stayed with the same look, feel and color palette.

The development team optimized loading times and scalability by creating a simple theme. In keeping with Red Duck’s push for positivity, we added bright and humorous elements to the design.

In Conclusion

Presentation is 90 percent of the battle to attract an online audience. That’s why digital media companies should invest in website cosmetic surgery every three years. The folks at Red Duck are thrilled they did. The company has welcomed loads of compliments on the update, and users report that the site is faster and easier to use.
